The black magic video assist runs on 2 LP6 ( canon DSLR ) batteries, those are way cheaper to buy than the batteries needed for the atomos. Also the Black magic video assist records in Proress or DNxHR on SD cards instead of SSD's.

Yeah , you're totally right. A very good competitor. :) 1080p, sony batteries, hdmi and sdi... The only thing I like better with the atomos is the fact that it takes hdd's. 1tb for 50 dollars... SD cards can't beat that.
